(OP)
Need to run 500 lbs/hr steam through nozzle.  Nozzles (orifices) sized by scfm air.  How to convert lbs/hr steam to scfm air.  Thank you.

RE: Orifice Sizing

1 ounce per hour is equal to 1.740632e-005 SCFM...

RE: Orifice Sizing

Place this on the forum for either Heat Transfer and ....

or Piping and fluid.........

RE: Orifice Sizing

What are the pressure difference and temperature condition for the nozzles (orifices) sized by scfm air.

If you know those conditions for the air and the Gas constant and the isentropic exponent "k' and the temperature of the steam then you can translate between air flow rate and steam flow rate.

I have the gas constants "R" and the isentropic exponent "k' for air and steam but you need to supply the steam temperature and the orifice air calibration conditions.

RE: Orifice Sizing

Ask this in "Home Work 4 U" Forum.

Ciao.
