Induction length

Induction length

Induction length

(OP)
Hi, I would like some feedback on the following
Individual throttle body with short intake runner/long velocity stack vs the same with long intake runner/short velocity stack
I am planning to use this setup on a 1.5L turbocharged long stroke motor for drag racing and would like to know if there is any noticeable difference

RE: Induction length

If you do a site search you should find a wealth of information in previous threads. on tuned length, runner and plenum volume, position of throttle plates etc re turbocharged engines.

RE: Induction length

Individual throttle bodies on a turbo charged motor are pointless, can result in no benefit in your application, and can result in power losses, depending on how they would be implemented. The correct engineering for your app. is tubular runners going to a plenum. The throttle, (singular), can be either at the entrance to the plenum or the intake of the turbo; if, and only if, the turbo has a compressor shaft seal rated for this duty, (vacuum). If you can use Methanol fuel in your race rules; remarkable power increases are available by using a single injector at the intake of the turbo. The methanol spray will increase the operating effeciency of the compressor, in addition to causing significant intercooling,(mixture density increase).
