Cavity rework with surfacing

Cavity rework with surfacing

(OP)
Hi all,

I have been trying to smooth out on a cavity section. The cavity (is like a bowl shape) with a tiny recess step in the middle. I want to get grid of it, by creating a new surface cut between the recess line & a new line. The lines are set to tangent to the rest of the surface. However, it didn't work out quite as I want. Program didn't proceed. My goal is to create the surface & use this to cut the original cavity shape to create a smoothened out cavity. Can you suggest any possible ways that I may be able to get this right?

    Any suggestions are welcome.
