Efficiency of gears?

Efficiency of gears?

Efficiency of gears?

(OP)
Hi,

I put a question in thread237-164391

I think that someone in here may be better prepared to answer than my motor friends. Pls go there and see if you can help.

RE: Efficiency of gears?

I have used 95% effic for most gears. Worm gearing may run at lower effic approaching 50%.

RE: Efficiency of gears?

If it's spur gears lubricated then an efficiency of 98% per set could be used.  Poor lubrication then 95%.
