Is anyone aware of any automotive corrosion concerns associated with the use of Magnesium Chloride or Potassium Chloride as road de-icing agents?

All chloride salts have similar nasty corrosive effects on the aluminum, carbon steel,and stainless steel compnonents.
It's the chloride ion, not the cation which is the culprite. There's an expert system at stainlesscenter.com which gives some help on this.

And some chloride road-salts are worse than others.  Sodium chloride at least will dry out,  and corrosion attack will be reduced on dry days.  Calcium chloride is highly hygroscopic and never truly dries out,  so it never ceases its' attack on your car.  Or, in the words of Neil Young, "Rust never sleeps."
