SE and ansys
(OP)
Hi. i´ve just installed Ansys in my computer. Not workbench. But I don´t know anything about using it. Can you recommend me information about working in Ansys with parts and assemblies in SE?

RE: SE and ansys
Probably best to look at 'Open' file or something like 'Import' and see if Solid Edge files are listed.
If not you will probably have to use parasolid, step or iges which can all be created from Solid Edge.

RE: SE and ansys
AFAIK you need mid-surfaces to work with Ansys. To get them from the
model you have to use an offset function. Midsurfaces can be created
in SE within the SheetMetal environment only but I don't know whether
they can be exported. For other environments ther is no such function
available in SE at current (V18)

RE: SE and ansys
to create a mid surface in part this sample might work:
a shell with say 4 mm wall thickness
- create an offset surface by half the wall thickness
(2 mm) from the outside surface direction: inside
- save the .par as Parasolid
- export option: activate 'sheets (constructions)'
- re import that Parasolid
Option: Make Base feature, Boolean solids, stitch surfaces
You should now have a base feature *and* a construction
surface.
- delete the base feature
and you should be left with just the mid-surface. The downside
is: this surface is no longer associative with the original
part.
