whats up with GE

whats up with GE

whats up with GE

(OP)
I have heard that GE moter that are made by Regail-Beloit are not very high quality. I have had a new GE like this fail. I got the information from a rep from ICM. Just want to know what others have seen out there. Thanks

RE: whats up with GE

GE sold off their HVAC motor production division to Regal-Beloit last year, who is paying GE for use of their "meatball" (the familiar GE logo) for a while until people start to recognize the R-B name. This doesn't affect the other GE motor divisions (at this time). This sort of thing happens all the time in the big corporate world.

Actually quite a few of GE's products (especially consumer products) have not been "made" by GE for a long time now. GE discovered years ago that they can get money for the logo without all the nasty headaches of actually manufacturing and supporting things.
