RE: DriveWorks feedback

Hello pdelnet,

We used DriveWorks Xpress to help automate a customer's heat exchanger design process.

Here are some notes:
1) Xpress is easy to use and it is great for rules based automation
2) Naturally like all free products it has limitations, if you have many parameters or a fairly complex product you may need the full version of DriveWorks

I would recommend that you install and use DriveWorks Xpress since it is free and you have nothing to lose. You may learn quite a bit from this experience.

But ultimately it is you who best knows if it will help you and your company.

regards,

Joseph

RE: DriveWorks feedback

Hi

There is a media file that can be downloaded from the DriveWorks homepage.

I've had a look and it does give you a handle on how to use and where to start. Its worth taking a look.

Thanks for the responses, maybe I should clarify what I was asking for, I already have it and know what it is for. What I am looking for is feedback from peolpe who have or are using it - good news - bad news - that sort of thing.

RE: DriveWorks feedback

Hello pdelnet,

Here are a few observations...

Good News

- Math equations are very powerful (they are Excel based)
- Ease of use is excellent
- It allows multiple users to access the same database at the same time

Bad News (or better yet limitations)

- Drop down lists can only have 4 items
- Lookup tables are not supported
- The drawing name cannot be automatically changed
- Pictures in dialog box are not supported

Of course the full version of DriveWorks solves the 4 limitations mentioned above.

Hope this helps.

Joseph
