Simulation speeds inaccurate

Simulation speeds inaccurate

Simulation speeds inaccurate

(OP)
I'm new to the simulation thing and I'm not getting it. I enter velocities for a couple of motors, but the simulation plays back at WAY slower than it should be. It would make sense if it was simply playing back in slow motion, but that's not it because seconds in the simulation tick by at the same rate as a real second but the distance moved is way less. Also, some of the motors don't even cause any motion.

What am I missing? Should all the mates be suppressed? I'm allowing motion in the directions I want motion to occur, but constraining in other directions. E.g. Coincident constraint to top and front planes so there is motion along 1 axis.

I'd appreciate any help,

RE: Simulation speeds inaccurate

I don't do much in the way of simulation, so I can only think to double-check units and make sure something's not running in mm when it should be running in inches.

I double-checked that. Changing units didn't affect it. 20in/s appears more like 1in/s

Well....Haven't gotten much feedback...

But, I think what is happening is that the simulations don't accurately represent the speeds, but rather simply shows the objects path of motion. In order to correctly show that motion one would have to use the simulation to create an animation. I may be wrong, I haven't proven that out, but that's what I'm picking up even though I've gotten very little response.

Thank you,

RE: Simulation speeds inaccurate

Animation is what I've used in the past.  It seems to do well in representing motion over a span of time.  However, the interface and method of making the motion is quite different.  (My animations are normally not very technical.)
