Using parametric text in drawing dimensions/notes

Using parametric text in drawing dimensions/notes

(OP)
Could someone please tell me what the proper syntax is for inserting parametric text (i.e. annotations) into the text of a dimension or note in a drawing?

RE: Using parametric text in drawing dimensions/notes

You cannot link a note to a dimension, but you can link/embed a dimension into a note by simply clicking on the dimension.

When entering a note, there is a Link to Property icon (chain-link and a hand) in the Annotation Manager. Using it will offer the available properties of the current document or associated model.

Also check the Help files for link, notes to properties > Link to Property and link, notes to properties > Linking Notes to Document Properties.

Thanks, I think that will help.

RE: Using parametric text in drawing dimensions/notes

You can add a Dimension to a custom property and have that how up in the drawing then add text to it.

Go to the part, File\Properties\ Custom tab\ Give it a name as for the value you must click on the dimension.

Then in the drawing you can link to that property.
