RE: BRENT DEFINITION

Brent is the name of an off shore Aberdeen crude (Scotland) discovered in 1971. Brent exploitation has begun in 1976. Brent is characterised as a very light (API 37) and low sulphur crude oil mix from 19 oil champs of North Sea. The price per barrel of this crude is the European market reference. The other crude mix prices are fixed trough Brent reference.

BRENT:

Paraffins = % Vol 50

Aromatics = % Vol 16

Naphetenes = % Vol 34

Sulphur = % Vol 0.4

API gravity = 37

Naphetene Yield = % Vol 31

Typical Octane Number = 50
