Make label show in drawing

(OP)
I have a part which is a thin metal panel having a label applied. Due to source of part being of lower quality than price, label is often misapplied.

I take label.ai file and place on the solid, but this does not show on the drawing. Is this possible? My workaround is to place label.ai on drawing too but when label file is changed this means twice the work.

Thanks,
Alex

RE: Make label show in drawing

Not sure a jpg is better than an illustrator file, but I've never had problems with jpg files.  Try saving the ai file as a jpg.  Also, on your drawing, make sure you use the "Shaded" or "Shaded with Edges" view option.

The "Shaded" or "Shaded with Edges" view option always works for my jpgs as well.

Thanks, I used Photoworks Decal option (which cannot use .AI) and the Shaded view option was what I missed.

Alex
