MSR elctro hydraulic linear actuator
(OP)
hello i am looking for a self contained MSR elctro hydraulic fail safe actuator or something close i have one on a cooling tower modulator it controlls two linked buterfly valves via a plc it has worked well for many years and i need to duplacate the system for a new tower the acuator is about two feet long and has a 4 inch stroke the venders in reno think i am making this up untill i show it to them thanks all -SK

Moog have something similar, but the Moog salesman in the UK was a disinterested asshole when we approached him with an enquiry. I won't fight with morons to buy stuff from their companies. It is a real shame because Moog's product quality is usually first class.

The Rexa product appears to introduce about 1 to 1.5 seconds of dead time into the control loop which might be a problem depending on the application. We're evaluating one on a gas turbine IGV controller where fast accurate response is probably more critical than in a cooling tower control where loop speed is likely to be much slower. I have some concerns with the dead time - we're in performance trials right now.

Worcester makes an electrohydraulic fail-safe rotary (90 degree) actuator. Set it on top of one of the butterfly valves and drive the other thru the linkage.
There is an actuation house called Virginia Valve that will cobble up almost anything. If you are really stuck you could drop a dime on them.
