Help with protective relays

(OP)
Hello, I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice or give me a link for sample testing sheets for GE line relays or other GE or Westinghouse protective relays. I went to the ge-industrial site and found alot of information but some of our relays are not listed. Reading the bulletins for the relays and comparing them to the notes of a retired relay tech is confusing. I'm using an AVO test set. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

RE: Help with protective relays

You really need the specific relay instruction book to get the recommended testing procedure if you're doing this for the first time.

Your local GE engineer and ABB engineer should be able to track down pdf files for any old relays.  There are a lot on their websites.

Those old relay IBs come in handy - hang on to any that you get.

RE: Help with protective relays

What relays in particular are you looking for information on?  Myself and others may have that info and can send it to you.

RE: Help with protective relays

If it is just test forms, there is a company called epowerforms on the web.  They have free test sheets.  The relays should be consider more of types rather than the specific, ie distance, overcurrent, etc.

RE: Help with protective relays

fyi - It is very critical that you match the publication revision of the protective relay to the date of purchase order. also buy yourself a protective relaying book by J L Blackburn and start reading IEEE Standards C37.102 and 242(buff book) that should give you a head start on the fundamentals of protective relaying. as for the historical instruction leaflets DPC was right, contact a local GE or ABB dude to hook you up and be very persistent.
