3 phase current converting to voltage signal

3 phase current converting to voltage signal

3 phase current converting to voltage signal

(OP)
We have a small project is " Display of Symmetrial components of an Unbalanced three phase system current. But we can't calculate symmetrial components base on current sourse. How do we convert from current signal to voltage signal.....(0-5A into 0-5V signal

1 ohm.

RE: 3 phase current converting to voltage signal

Of course, it depends on what signal you really can handle. Your 0-5 A are probably (sure about it) an RMS value. That means that your voltage (if developped across a 1 ohm resistor) will move between -7 and +7 V 50 or 60 times/second.

So you either have to get an A/D with bipolar capacity or you select a resistor that makes your voltage drop -2.5 to +2.5 V and then offset by adding 2.500 V. Your signal will then be between 0 and +5 V.

And, of course again.

If this is a school project - don't post here.

Check out the circuits of old electromechanical protection relays. In the days before micrprocessors they used sequence filter networks to build, for example, a negative phase sequence relay to protect rotating plant.
