I have a pre-engineered metal building with rigid frames.  The manufacturer's engineer has stated that they always place the edge of the column footing flush with the edge of the building's turned-down slab.  Since the column is within 8 inches of the edge, this means the column load is eccentric to the centerline of the footing.

Does anyone have a reference or formula(s) that you can share that handles this situation?  Also, since this pour will monolithic, do you account for the grade beam action between column footings?

See Foundation Engineering by Braja Das.  He covers eccentrically loaded footings fairly well.  Coduto has another good reference.  

I don't normally account for the thickened edge helping with the column gravity load.

What about the grade beam action (turned-down slab) helping with a moment on a single moment column?
