Making a part from a mold

Making a part from a mold

(OP)
I work for a thermoforming plastic company. Basically, I have a mold, we put a thin sheet of hot plastic over it, it forms to the mold, and there's your part.

I have a mold in SolidWorks and would like to simulate what the part looks like from the mold. Is there a way to simulate this? I know SolidWorks has mold tools, but I can't seem to find a way to do this. Thank you in advance!

RE: Making a part from a mold

Create a zero offset surface of the mould form, then thicken the surface to suit.

cheers
