Temper Mill Oil consumption

Temper Mill Oil consumption

Temper Mill Oil consumption

(OP)
I'm looking for data on the consuption of oil during a temper mill operation or skin pass on a temper mill.  Approximately what amount of oil remains on the oil during the rolling operation?

Michael,

I've been around SS mills before in my previous life at Kolene Corporation (Molten Salt conditioning of strip after anneal and before pickle) and agree with you.  However I am working on a CS project and they do use oils and emulsions for lubricating and metal surface conditioning of the strip at the roll bite.

Thanks,

John M. Cole, P.E.
