EXPORTING LINE ATTRIBUTES

EXPORTING LINE ATTRIBUTES

EXPORTING LINE ATTRIBUTES

(OP)
Is there a way to select a line and export (write to file) its attributes - I am really only after linetype, global width, LTS and colour.(for export back to a table)

The aim is actually to produce a drawing displaying all autocad colours and how they are printed (our printer is a little naff and some of the colours come out rather bad). In addition I was trying to display the different line types with various other variations (global width etc).

Do you have any ideas of how to produce such a drawing other than draw the lines, change the colours and write the text?

Cheers. Sean.

RE: EXPORTING LINE ATTRIBUTES

There is a file called chroma.dwg in your Support folder that may be what you want.

It is helpful but unfortunately is shows the colours of these block rather than of polylines. The quality of the printer means that thiner lines are often quite low quality where as a block is not too bad - but I'll use it to match properties for my lines saving lots of time.

Any other thoughts?

Cheers. Sean.

Looking at it I guess its not attributes but properties I am looking for.

RE: EXPORTING LINE ATTRIBUTES

There are a few other example drawings in the SAMPLE folder that show lineweights and color things.

A long while back, we created a drawing with all of those samples lined up together. Takes about 20 minutes.

RE: EXPORTING LINE ATTRIBUTES

Hi,

I know a "ctb-tester". It's a dwg with 256 lines, each color. Do you need this?

That sounds like what I need. How do I go about getting it from you?

Cheers. Sean.
