Anchor Load

(OP)
I have a 12"ID pipe system that is designed with hard pipe loops.  Is there a way to calulate the pressure load back to the anchors?

RE: Anchor Load

Yes,

With no end caps on the pipe segment,

Axial stress = Hoop_Stress   x Poisson's ratio
Axial Force = Axial stress x Cross-sectional_Area

Note:  This is an axial shortening effect, thus will pull the anchors together.

Then apply the anchor forces to the loop to get the additional bending stresses at the ells.  Multiply by the ell stress intensification factor.
