Re: Training / Evaluation...

Just a quick question...

We are interviewing some applicants for design positions within our company. What kind of questions do you like to ask or test an applicant for evaluation purposes? (Specifically ones who indicate strong SWX experience) Just want to evaluate their level is as what 'they' promote.

Kevin.

Take care & have fun!

RE: Re: Training / Evaluation...

"What is the most rewarding thing you've created with Solidworks and why?"

RE: Re: Training / Evaluation...

"What do you like the most about SolidWorks?"

"What do you like the least about SolidWorks?"

"If I show you this physical part, how long would you need to model it completely in SolidWorks?  What information would you need in order to accomplish that?"

RE: Re: Training / Evaluation...

That depends on your definition of what a designer would be doing in you environment. Concept, detailing or everything?

Rather than ask what they can do, get them to show you. Give them a drawing or an actual part (with measuring tools) & have them create the model. The drawing or part should of course involve several "interesting" features.

If you have a product which involved some serious use of brain cells to resolve a design problem, explain or show them the problem and ask how they would resolve it ... without letting them see how it was actually resolved.
