Pro/E Default Working Directory

Pro/E Default Working Directory

Pro/E Default Working Directory

(OP)
I have recently started an engineering job at a small company and I am the only one who knows any CAD.  We have a Pro/E license but I come from a SolidWorks background and I'm having some difficulty configuring Pro/E.

I want to be able to change the default working directory and I haven't been able to find where to set it in config.pro.  I assume it's there somewhere; I just can't seem to find it.

Thanks in advance for the help,

Matt

RE: Pro/E Default Working Directory

Hey Matt

If you right click on the icon that starts Pro/E and choose Properties, there is a "Start in" option. Changing this will let you change the working directory which Pro/E starts in.

msutton-
There is also a config setting that prevents Pro/E from resetting the work directory everytime you navigate to a different directory.  That is annoying in the least and work-losing at the most!

Tunalover.
Where is the config? I searched all of the config files and didn't see anything that looked like it might be it.
What's it called?
Thanks.

RE: Pro/E Default Working Directory

Thanks a lot!
It was so agravating importing a table, or weld symbol, or whatever from one directory, then having Pro-E default to that directory to open another part. Especially when we have 100 or more folders on our server with files in them!
