(OP)
Hello everybody,

I need to put an arabic text into a ugnx3 drawing, but it's not posibble because of lack of an arabic text font. Does anybody know, if there is an arabic font for ugnx3? Where can I dowload it?

Regards

Andrzej

RE: text font in ugnx3

If you're just placing drawing notes, then use an Arabic True Type Font (TTF).  Pick Insert -> Curve -> Text and you can use a TTF for the text.  It will be an outline of the font, so not sure if that will work for you or not.

Other than that, I'm not sure of any other way of adding or using an Arabic font unless you were to create a custom UG font file or someone else supplies you with the UG font file to use.

I have no clue why UGS can't make NX completely compatible with TTF (probably due to UNIX platform), but they really need to get this font crap ironed out so it's never an issue again.  Catia v5 fully supports TTF and is kicking UGS' ass all over the place in this particular situation.

If you follow industry standard drafting practices, there are very few fonts that can be 'legally' used on drawings.
