Slitting Saw

Slitting Saw

Slitting Saw

(OP)
So here is the scenario. We have a slitting saw (solid Carbide) that is 2.25” O.D. with a 0.625”I.D. and is .040” thick. The 2-piece arbor we use 440c stainless. One part (part 1) goes up in to the tool holder and the other part (part 2) bolt up into the part 1 holding or “sandwiching”  the slitting saw. So the hole in the slitting saw is .625 and the O.D. of the arbor is .75. That leaves .0625” at any one point holding the slitting saw. Is that too thin? Shouldn’t there be more material “sandwiching” the slitting saw?

I hope that made sence. thank for the help.
