gambrel roof - wind design

(OP)
I have been given a set of plans to do a wind analysis on for a home with a gambrel roof.  A wind analysis on a gambrel is new to me.  I have done several hip and gables.  I have been looking though ASCE-02 for guidance.  It does not seem to address this shape roof.  Would it be wrong to analysis it as a gable with the steepest pitch?  Thanks.

RE: gambrel roof - wind design

On my website homepage, link below, download "Design of Barns to Withstand Wind Loads". This 1941 document covers gambrel roofs. Questions on gambrel framing comes up from time-to-time, there seems to be almost no engineering information available on it.

Thanks SlideRuleEra.  I read it this weekend.  Lots of good information.  I think I will be spending sometime looking through your various links on your web page.
