If I have an object, lets say a machine boss, that I need to be copied around a design, what is the easiest and fasest way to do this?

Make a new partbody, and draw the first boss centered on one of the sketch points. Add draft & radii to this boss.
Do a User Defined Pattern to copy the master boss to all the other points in the sketch.
Use a boolean ADD to add the boss partbody to the main partbody. Add fillets where the bosses meet the part.
Edit the sketch if you want to move, add or delete a boss.
Edit the master boss if you need to change the shape of all of them.

As for CATIA blowing and UG NX being far superior, it all depends on your skills and knowledge of each system. There are many aspects of each system that are better than the same aspect of the other system. There are many UG users on this forum that have become CATIA Converts. There are also others that still prefer UG.
Personally, there are aspects of the old APPLICON Bravo system that I still miss (boy, that really dates me). But there are many strenghts in CATIA V5 that I wouldn't give up.
RE: Transforming,Moving,Copying
That's quite a statement for newbie to make, especially when you come asking simple questions about things like patterning. You don't know how to use the system, and you call another superior?
One thing you should learn, as a matter of courtesy - you should never bite the hand that feeds you. You came asking a question about Catia, and then proceeded to vent your frustration to people who are helping you. That's rather unprofessional, and could conjure up images of "the guy" in every department across America, that nobody wants to help because of bad attitude. From me to you - ease up, just a bit.

As far as the power copy,, what are the steps of doing this? Do I need to draw a sketch, make a pad, and then copy from a pre-determined point?
RE: Transforming,Moving,Copying
As for powercopy tutorials, you find them either at the link in my signature, (CATBlog) or your online help documentation. Being a newbie, you would do very well to learn how to use the help docs. They're not as good as the NX help docs, (seriously) but they are very good, and there is a wealth of information to be found. Once you learn which workbench/module that each bit of information that you are looking for falls under, the process become much easier. (search by product, instead of all products)

UG and Catia each have some very pronounced advantages. For my part, I much prefer the modeling environment in Catia, primarily because of the way things are handled in the tree. This probably means very little to you now, while learning die design - and maybe the benefits are not there. (not sure - never designed dies in UG or Catia V5) Stick with it. Once you pick up, there are things that you'll find that you would never trade UG for. And there are things that you are never going to want to give up from UG, especially later versions. (NX4 is awesome)
Good luck, and I hope that you find all the help that you need. If you don't find it here, also check out http://www.catiav5forum.de/.
