Animating Threaded Motion
Animating Threaded Motion
(OP)
I am trying to animate or add appropriate mates to something similar to a leadscrew. As I turn the screw with my mouse, I want the nut and everything attached to it to move linearly.
I understand gear mates but this gives rotation to rotation motion at a given ratio. What I need is rotary to linear at a given ratio.
Anyone know how to do this?
Thanks,
Kevin

Some of the examples at http://w
SW07 has a "Rack & Pinion" function which would probably do the job.

Thanks for the file. It's pretty cool and close to what I need. I was hoping to have a magical that that will work mathematically since I only have cosmetic threads on my parts.
