Short Circuit MVA
Short Circuit MVA
(OP)
The job I am working on has the following in the specification...
THe main input power has the following characteristics:
(1) Voltage: 2400VAC, 3P, 60Hz, 3W Y reactor Grounded
(2) PF: 0.8 Lagging
(3) Fault Level on 2400V: 25kA, 103.9MVA (RMS Symmetrical)
My question is; Does the MVA make sense? This looks more like the MVA at 4160??
Not to sure

My big finger on my calculator gave me a different answer that coincidentally workout at the 4160V level not 2400V...
my bad...

If so the fault current may be calculated at 4160, rather than 2400, and the 103.9 MVA looks right.
