PE Metallurgical Exam

(OP)
I will take a PE exam this Oct. Just bought several reference books and like to find a buddy to study it together. If you are interested in it, please let me know.

Also, I 'd like get suggestions from those of you who already took the PE exam. COuld you give me some suggestions? I only have two months to prepare for it. Any suggestions or recommendations would be highly appreciated..

Thanks!

Li

Thanks, Cory.

After read these threads, I feel more pressure. It seems that I could not pass it without good organization. I might start to study the TMS study Guide first. Then study all those reference books.

For TMS study guide, I tried to find equations to solve the first serveal qustions, I could not find it at ASM metals Handbook. Do I need a book for statistics?

RE: PE Metallurgical Exam

Do you have a good Econ book?  Are you comfortable with Net Present Value?
Stat, your class notes are probably better than a text.
In my view, planning is more important than study.  You cannot learn everything that you need, but you can learn where the info is.
There will be questions in areas that you know nothing about.  Don't worry about those.  Leave them and focus on the ones that you can solve correctly.

Do everything that you can to make yourself feel comfortable.  This is the soft stuff, but very important in times of high stress.  From getting good sleep to what you wear and eat.  I think that the non-technical stesses are greater than the questions.  If you can keep comfortable you will be able to focus.  Then you can pass the sucker.
