ultrasonic vibration/leak detection

Hello agian,
submitted a question once already concerning sheave alignment. But on another note we have been looking in ultrsonic leak detection to improve our efficency in our compressed air stream and our laser gases. We have sampled several brands but to an inexspearienced eye all seem to be very good. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Some brands offer multiple function how good are these and would it be better to by separate unit to do specific task?

thanks

RE: ultrasonic vibration/leak detection

What units have you looked at so far?  I have used the UE Systems equipment for years doing air leaks surveys and it works really well.  I would recommend them as a first choise for any air leak equipment.  http://www.uesystems.com/

Hope this helps.

hello,
Thanks for the reply we had the chance to use the SDT flex, Soundtrap 1000 and a Accutrak all seemed to be good units but exspensive. in comparison to the cost of a .125 air leak over a years time or a .062 hole in a nitrogen line over a year this may not be hard to justify.

thanks agian for the suggestion we'll look into it

RE: ultrasonic vibration/leak detection

We have been using the UE systems ultraprobe 2000 for years now, we do steam trap inspection, air leak detection, leak tests on heat exchangers and radiators and much. If we look back it have been a very good investment combined with the on-site training we received with the purchase.
If you are also looking at laser alignment tools, these are much more expensive..
