SE lock up

SE lock up

SE lock up

(OP)
My workstation specs:
XP Pro
2.8 P4 processor
1 Gb Ram
G-force 6600, PCI Express, 256mb

When in a part or assembly file, if I zoom in close to an area, SE will lock up for 30sec-to-2min, almost everytime I zoom in every part or assembly, whether I'm in sketch mode or not.
Could this be a grapics card issue, maybe I need a bit more ram? Could the Graphics card maybe not be a good match for SE, (certified or tested). I'm used to the computer at my last company having 4gb memory when using Solidworks.

RE: SE lock up

Hi Adam,

Yes, it is a graphicscard issue. I had a 6600 before my Quaddro 1400 and it behaved the same way. When SE stopped locking up all my lines where gone. I had to alter my screenresolution 1600 to 1200 and back, or refresh frequency from 85 Hz to 60 Hz and back again to get the lines again.
With the quaddro and the right driver it was over.

Thanks, I updated the drivers for the card. I still have so minor issued with the graphics, but it nolonger locks up when I zoom in close.
