RE: MSE Wall hand calculation example

Hi,
you might want to take a look on following books:

- Designing with geosynthetics, by Robert M Koerner
- Soft Ground Improvement in lowland and other environments, by Bergado, Anderson, Miura, Balasubramaniam.

regards,
sendy.

Design and Construction Guidelines for Mechanically Stabilized Earth Walls and Reinforced Soil Slopes.  FHWA Pub No. NHI-00-043.

Available online:

Lots of others, but this is a core document.

Sure - I've done hundreds - in addition to the above check out Colin Jones' text book.

In the USA be particularly aware of the RECO practice of not considering corrosion at the bolt hole - the assumptions simply aren't realsised in practice and in the rest of the world the bolt hole is considered the weakest point.

The NCMA guidelines have sample calcs as well.
