section view dimensions lose associativity

section view dimensions lose associativity

I've got a drawing where my section view dimensions lose associativity to the model upon doing a CTRL-Q.  I can cut the section fine, dimension to the section, but when I do a CTRL-Q the dimensions turn red as if I've changed geometry, which I haven't.

I've done numerous CTRL-Qs on the part and drawing before creating the dimensions but the dimensions wig out every time when CTRL-Q is done after they are created.  I've checked the part geometry and there are no invalid entities.

Any sugestions?

Thanks,
Dave Gowans

Aaaaaaaaargh!!!!!!!

Everything appears to be working correctly now - 2 minutes after posting, of course.  I really have no idea what I did differently - I didn't reboot, reinstall, exit SWX or any of the other typical solutions for this type of situation.

For those of you who work in tech support roles for VARs and such, how do you typically explain this type of non-repeatable behavior?

Thanks,
Dave

RE: section view dimensions lose associativity

I believe that's usually ascribed to the "C2K interface".

C2K = Chair to Keyboard  smile

RE: section view dimensions lose associativity

Non-repeatable behavior are the hardest ones to understand. But you as customer have to find away to get the information to us. Like screen shots... SW RX... anything that will help us as Tech support to understand what it is you are seeing. Non-reproducible behavoir is the one thing that makes it hard for everyone. There really is not much we can do or SW can do it the issue is not reproducible.

Just get as much data as you can screen shots or even some type of Movie software (camtasia) as an example.
