PE Exam(Structural I)

PE Exam(Structural I)

(OP)
Hello guys:  Do you have any tips/advice for the PE.  Someone told not to worry too much about code related material to be the latest.  In addition, how long is the reciprocity process??  Thanks in advance

RE: PE Exam(Structural I)

I took the Structural I in 2003.  I would check your state board recommendations this.  My state board's web site had a list of recommended books for the exam and in certain instances, newer codes were required.
From the time I submitted all my paperwork for reciprocity, I think it took approximately 6 weeks.  This was for Ohio, I'm not sure about other states.

OK, thanks a million for your help CJS..

RE: PE Exam(Structural I)

Check out ncees.org for exam information.  They will tell you what codes are necessary, which edition of said codes, and even have an approximate breakdown of the exam content (i.e., 30% analysis, 20% design, etc.).
