HELP!

HELP!

(OP)
I get this message when running:

The plasticity/creep/connector friction algorithm did not converge at 322 points

What does this mean??

RE: HELP!

Please don't just put Help as the topic title, as everybody who posts here could use exactly the same title and nobody would be any wiser.

The error message that the plasticity/../ friction algorithm didn't converge at 322 points could mean anything. You'll have to give mroe information, besides HELP.

RE: HELP!

(OP)
It means:
when I run the model trying to capture the the cracking response of my concrete slab I get this message and I don“t know what this means.

Perhaps it has do with that the first crack appears and abaqus can not calculate it or what do you think????

RE: HELP!

The algorithms you mentioned use numerical schemes (e.g. Newton method) to solve specific equations at each integration point.

A fixed number of interations is imposed to these algorithms to be performed until the specified degree of accuracy is obtained. If this accuracy is not obtained within those iterations ABAQUS will stop the computation and state that the algorithm does not converge.

This may happen if you use for example a non-monotonic stress-strain response curve for the plastic behaviour of the material.

You could try to confine the maximum time increment to a smaller value.
