CATERPILLAR ANNOTATION

CATERPILLAR ANNOTATION

CATERPILLAR ANNOTATION

(OP)
Problem:
I am trying to use the caterpillar annotation feature for the first time and am not able to show a very simple situation.  Let me know if I am doing something wrong.  If not, I will send in an ER.

Current Situation:
I have a horizontal 12" plate with another 12" flat plate at 90°.  I just need to show a single 2" fillet weld on the drawing (iso view).  This fillet weld needs to be placed in the middle of the plate.  The options available with the caterpillar feature allow for a "full" weld or "intermittent".  The intermittent however, does not allow for a "single" bead.  Is there a way to show just a single bead in the middle of the plate with the caterpillar feature?

Thanks in advance,
Bloodclot

RE: CATERPILLAR ANNOTATION

An ER for a begining offset might be useful.

A workaround meantime might be to add a small chamfer(s) to the edge being welded to limit the weld length.

... or splitting the mating face to create a split edge to control the "caterpillar" length.

I will investigate both possibilities you have suggested.  An ER is on the way as well.
