Installtion of Tower Trays

Installtion of Tower Trays

Installtion of Tower Trays

(OP)
My questions are related to installation of Tower Trays :

1) Whats the procedure of installation of sieve trays in a tower . Are they installed afer fabrication of tower or during the facrication ?? The problem I am facing is that the diameter of the vessel is 800 mm and the height is 14560 mm . Is 800mm would be enough for a person to enter and install the trays b/c the delivery time of trays is taking long time then we have expected .

Thnkyou and Regards

RE: Installtion of Tower Trays

Tipical arrangement for this diameter is a "cartridge" of several trays locked in a supporting light structure and lowered in the column via top removable cover. Obviously, the inlet nozzles to the trays will have to be removable, ditto the instrumentation nozzles. The only internal supports are the cartridge locking devices (if used). Usually, only 5-7 trays can be locked in a cartridge, hence you have to use two or more interlocking cartridges. Talk to your local tray supplier, Sulzer or look up the Shell mechanical specifications, or ask in another thread for help.

Cheers,
