Dimensioning to Intersection points

Dimensioning to Intersection points

Dimensioning to Intersection points

(OP)
Was wondering how I can dimension to an intersection point when the two lines don't actually touch each other like when going across a void and one side of the void is a different level than the other side? I'll try to upload a picture to show what I mean

One way is to create a Virtual Sharp then dimension to that.

That doesn't seem to work inside a drawing. I can't choose the virtual sharp in the drawing.

RE: Dimensioning to Intersection points

Are having trouble creating the virtual sharp or attaching the dimension to it?

I can dimension it in the sketch but I need it in my detail drawing. How can I detail it in the drawing file?

RE: Dimensioning to Intersection points

In a drawing view hold down ctrl select the entities that you want to find the intersection of, then select the point icon, this will create the virtual sharp that you can attach a dimension to.

For whatever reason I thought I had tried that but I guess not, thank you Mike for the input. Works fine.
