Need help with simple spring loaded Pawl design
Need help with simple spring loaded Pawl design
(OP)
Can anyone point me in the right direction of designing a simple spring loaded pawl. The design I am think of allows for bi-rotational spur gear with an external pawl. The pawl is spring loaded to intersect the tooth gap, but a certain amount of torque is needed to overcome the loaded spring and dislodge the spawl, allowing for movement. Thanks

RE: Need help with simple spring loaded Pawl design
If you Imagine the tooth space at 12 O'clock the pawl pivot for the pawl wants to be above the O/D and slightly to the left (the way I'm thinking). Then the LH side of the pawl will lift out with CW rotation & it will jam in the bottom in ACW rotation.
Just some thoughts - I haven't drawn anything out.
