Help with door way in walk up basement

Help with door way in walk up basement

(OP)
I am installing a door in oour basement to make it a walkup. I am concerned with having the door cut out where there is a window currently and if a new header will be needed, I will be cutting about 2-3" on each side of the window down. I am also worried about the footer being frost protected. I live in Cincinnati, OH where the forst line is 30". I plan to use 2" foam insulation against the footer and under the slab at the doorway. Please give me any suggestions. Here is a photo album of the project  http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/ed_sand/album?.dir=/9cfare2

RE: Help with door way in walk up basement

All valid concerns.
The header should be checked by an engineer.  There doesn't appear to be much in the way of a header there now.  Do you hvae enough room for a 7' door and header?
The footing should be frost protected.
I am not sure about your inulation solution.  Someone may have experience with this type of construction.
However, I know that if you extend the footings to frost depth, you will be protected.  This would include footings on the side of the door until there is enough soil fo rcover.
