EXTRUDE with OFFSET
EXTRUDE with OFFSET
(OP)
Has anybody else noticed that when you do an EXTRUDE with an OFFSET... you can't get to the OFFSET dimension later to put it into a design table?

RE: EXTRUDE with OFFSET
2) Click Extrude
3) Select Offset from Surface
4) Select the Top plane (since you don't have another surface to work from)
5) Select distance (3")
6) Click OK
7) Double click shows the dimension and that you can use in a DT.
If you are using Direction 2 and using an offset then you need specifiy your steps... the other question I have is if you are doing it that away... why? If I extrude a block and then extrude a boss off of that. Then I can use the offset from Surface picking the opposite direction and a distance and I get teh dimension there... I guess I don't understand your reason or your process, but from the way I am doing it it works fine.
