Such as

(OP)
....work with other professionals such as P-way engineers (to work out the width of a bridge), highway engineers (to establish the internal dims of a tunnel)....

Could anybody tell me whether I can use the phrases in the brackets?

RE: Such as

don't look too bad to me, although if there are many more types of people you've worked with, i'd suggest a list format ...
i've worked with :
P-way engineers, to establish the width of bridges;
highway engineers, to establish the internal dimensions of a tunnel; ...

i'd spell out "dimensions" rather than abbreviate it to "dims", but then that's me !

RE: Such as

I agree with rb1957 on both counts.  Your structure is perfectly acceptable.  Listing as rb1957 suggests for a long list of disciplines would read more easily, but your original format is fine for a few listings.
