Contour lines Visualization

Contour lines Visualization

Contour lines Visualization

(OP)
A is a field output, B is another field output. As we know, the results for each can be displayed in a contour mode (visualization). Now I do not know how to display the contours line of the ratio A/B.

Thanks for help

RE: Contour lines Visualization

try using Visualization->Tools->Create Field Output->From Fields

RE: Contour lines Visualization

(OP)
I have element in which the first field (A) has 4 nodes and field B has 8 nodes. So upon trying to creat new field:(A/B). I am gettin a message :INCOMPITABLE LOCATION. To avoid such incompitability  I though that I should get the results for A and B in AVERAGE VALUES throughout the elements;i.e,  each element has one average value for both field A an B and then Go to CREATE FIELED FROM OUTPUT.
is that right. But I could not know how i get AVERGAES of A and B throughout the model elements. Plese advice
Thanks

RE: Contour lines Visualization

A field variable doesn't have 4 or 8 nodes, it is an output which is either calculated at the element gauss points or extrapolated to the nodal positions. My guess is that to get the error of incompatible location you must somehow be trying to mix the nodal output variable with the element variable. Perhaps you could desribe more fully what the field variables A and B are?

I have a porous  medium (pore pressure and displacement) element  CPE8P which is bilinilar in pore pressure but quadrilateral in displacement, stress, strain...
So the element output will give stress components at 8 nodes and pore pressure at 4 nodes. Hence i cannot creat field output pore pressure/ first stress componenet

Therefore I thought that I should get the the average value of pore pressure throughout the element (field output A) and the average value of the first stress componenet S11 throughout the element ( field output B) and then I beleive I can creat a new field output A/B.
Thank you
