Modeling Distribution Lines USing CDEGS software

(OP)
How far do we need to model the distribution lines in Malz, Hifreq module of CDEGS software? What is base for end points in the distrbution lines when we model?

RE: Modeling Distribution Lines USing CDEGS software

Hi Rezza
In the CDEGS "How To Engineering Guide" named Electromagnetic Fields near a Transmission Line Tower Subjected to Unbalanced Currents and a Phase to Ground Fault, SES list a formula
(page 2-2) that the line should be modeled 10 times dmax on either side of every observation point to be modeled. They define dmax as the maximum distance from the furtherest away observation point and the transmission line.
Hope this helps
