Solidworks Explorer Hang-Up

Solidworks Explorer Hang-Up

Solidworks Explorer Hang-Up

(OP)
I've been using Solidworks for a few months.  My company is small and we are in the process of getting our file structure resolved.  We a lot of parts and sub-assemblies already done, and I’m now working on getting all the links to the new file locations restored.  We are not using PDM works, but I am operating over a network.  We are currently using SW 2006.

So my problem is that I need to replace old parts with new ones.  I've been trying to do this using Solidworks Explorer.  Solidworks Explorer tends to slow way down when it searches for "where used" through certain files, and others it get through quickly.  Any one had anything like this before.

RE: Solidworks Explorer Hang-Up

It seems to me more like the network.
Also, try opening SW Ex separate and not from SW. Sometimes it runs better on it's own.

RE: Solidworks Explorer Hang-Up

I would say its a network issue too. Just to test this theory out try coping your assembly and all the file locally and see if hte same problem occurs. If not it'sa network issue.
