Edge colour in cross sections

Edge colour in cross sections

Edge colour in cross sections

(OP)
Hi there.  When I make a cross section (xsec), the solids that get cut all have yellow edges.  Is there a way that I can remove the yellow colour, or maybe change it to black?

RE: Edge colour in cross sections

Here’s how I get rid of the lines.  I know some of these steps are redundant, but for some reason it doesn’t work otherwise.

1. Open view manager and click the Xsec tab to make sure the cross section is active.

2. In the view manager Xsec tab, click the display button and select “visibility” (an eye icon should appear next to your cross-section name)

3. click the display button again and click “show X-hatching”.

4. Right click the X-section name and select “unset visibility” (the eye icon should go away)

5. Click the display button again and select “normal”

For whatever reason, that works for me.  I have no idea why.

Good luck!

Thanks, mate,

The following is a copy of some e-mail traffic that followed my disseminating your tip.  There is yet another way to do it:

Didn’t I send something out on this about a month ago? The easy way to do it is just to activate the render function: View – Model Setup – Room Editor. As soon as you enter that function, the section lines disappear without affecting the quality of the rest of the model (and no, you don’t need to render it for this to happen).

Don’t thank me…thank PTC!

All,

This link is to an answer that was posted in reply to my question:  how do you get the yellow edges off of cross sections in pro-e?

The result of a series of totally random  steps does indeed get the yellow edges off, but now you lose the sharpness of the section.

So I looked in the view colors, and found out how you can change the yellow to black or whatever.

You just go View / Display Settings / System Colors and when the list appears, the item to change is ‘LETTER’

This is for the color of the edges in cross sections.

Obvious, isn’t it?
