electromagnetic circuit simulation SOLID117
(OP)
Hello,
my problem is the following: I try to simulate an iron region incl. eddy currents (SOLID117 Keyopt(1)=1) which is magnetised by a solid massive conductor (SOLID117 Keyopt(1)=5). I also use two CIRCU124 Elements as source (Keyopt(1)=4 and 7). The calculation should be in 3D transient.
I did calculations with only one CIRCU124 source element (Keyopt(1)=4) without any problems. But these calculations do not recognize the self-inductance of the model. So I have to use in addition the 2nd CIRCU124 element. But now the GUI-solution of ANSYS is illogical. I estimate it is a problem because of the time-integrated VOLT DOF. Can anybody explain me what are the consequences and the properties respectivly of this special DOF? I also have an error while setting the flag (SF with Lab=MCI).
Error message: Invalid value ( ) on the SFE command for load MCI.
Valid input is "IN,OUT, or -1,+1".
I do not understand this message because I do not use the SFE-command. I use the SF-command. Incredible
Thank you in advance
Michael

RE: electromagnetic circuit simulation SOLID117
I don't understand this part in your question "I try to simulate an iron region which is magnetised by a solid massive conductor (SOLID117 Keyopt(1)=5)"
What are you trying to do with this?
other thing, how your current source for the conductor is?
as you know the error you have is for the way you apply the current
I confused because I can't imagine your model can you be more specific?
greetings
Lucky
RE: electromagnetic circuit simulation SOLID117
I have already solved my problem.
