Volume reduction calculation

Volume reduction calculation

Volume reduction calculation

(OP)
Hi community,

I would like to estimate the volume reduction of my workpiece during a forging process made with ABAQUS/Explicit (axisymetric elements). I've read that it was possible to see it in the .dat file by adding the line

*Diagnostics, ADAPTIVE MESH=DETAIL

in the step module of my input file, but it doesn't work (not a single line reffers to this percentage volume change).

As an alternative solution I tried to import the sketch geometry of my deformed 2D workpiece into Solidworks and Solidedge (to rebuild a 3D revolved piece and calculate the volume) but without succes.

Could someone help me? Thanks in advance,

François.
