Problems with Constraints
Problems with Constraints
(OP)
I am a new user with SE and am more familiar with Autodesk Inventor.
How do you fully constrain a part with SE?
I always found it easy to see what constraints were missing with Inventor since you can just click on the part and pull.
Is there something i can do in SE that will show me which constraints are missing?
I tend to constrain X - Y - Z and still have the "shakey" symbol in the EdgeBar.
any Ideas?

RE: Problems with Constraints
first: you may use the 'Move Part' function to move an underconstrained
part. Use either option linear or rotate. When the part will follow
the linear move or can be rotated about it own(!) axis you know which
degree of freedom it still has. DON NOT forget to press the 'RESET'
button before leaving the function otherwise the part won't spring
back.
When you tie a part to another part and it is fully constraint but
the other part still ha a degree of freedom either direct or indirect
then the part will show that 'shakey' symbol. Quick test; place one
part into you assy now place a second part and fully constarint it
to part 1. Now suppress the 'ground relationship' from part 1. Voila
both parts wil now show that shakey symbol.
