Steel Sheet Piling Costs

Steel Sheet Piling Costs

Steel Sheet Piling Costs

(OP)
I am working on a project and would appreciate any help or input I can get.

Working on a earth stabilization project along a riverfront using steel sheet piling.  The steel sheet pile river wall will vary in height along the riverfront as the riverbank is steeper in areas.  Sheet piling length will vary from 44'(28' in ground) in steep areas to 21' (15' in ground) in less steep areas.
Anchoring will be necessary using bulkheads.
Can anyone help me out with a good rough estimate on the cost of this wall.  I am having trouble finding any costs or supplier costs online.
Anyone have a cost per SF of wall?
I appreciate any input one might have.

RE: Steel Sheet Piling Costs

The best, most up to date costs would come from a contractor specializing in this type of work.  Call one or two and outline the project and ask for preliminary budget costs.  I'm sure they would be able to help.

There are a number of cost estimating books (Dodge/McGraw-Hill, ACE, and Means to name a few) that have unit costs.  They are OK for rough budgeting, but would not have the most current cost data (recent rise in steel prices) and mobilization costs are not always included.

From ACE Guide to Construction Costs, 16' sheets ~ $30/sf, 40' sheets ~ $86/sf are some pretty rough numbers for starters.

RE: Steel Sheet Piling Costs

I agree best aproach is to get a contractor to give you an estimate. R.S. Means can give you a good idea also. I would estimate rough costs to be $25,000 sheeting contractor mob, $30 sf to drive $2 lb to fab & install wale $5,000 mob for anchor sub mob $3,000 per anchor.
If work is from water multiply by 1.5 to 2

These are really rough numbers. many details can significantly affect price
